the turbine wheel, however, the effect in this application would be a moot difference. Unless it wasn't properly balanced, there wont be any difference in its service life. Something I havent' considered: shaving the blades reduces the weight of the turbine wheel, which will benefit spoolup. It will also reduce any radial loads produced by the very small imbalances that will be in the part (nothing is "perfectly" balanced).
